Help us to extend basic assistance to an Indigenous Land Rights Defender (ILRD) facing death threats and intimidation.  For instance, with an amount of only 3,000 Philippine pesos/month (approx.50€/57USD) we can cover the basic needs of a ILRD, so that he/she can continue supporting the land struggle of his/her own community.

‘SOS HEALTH ’: A FIRST AID PROGRAMME FOR INDIGENOUS PEOPLE

Help us to save a human life.  For instance, with an amount of only 3,500 Philippines pesos (approx. 59€/67USD) we can shoulder the costs of medicines, blood and x-ray exams of an indigenous child.

YOU CAN ALSO SEND DONATIONS FOR:

Financing the Monthly Honorarium of an Indigenous Ancestral Domain Patroller (IADP)

Ancestral domains, even after receiving formal recognition, need to be patrolled constantly to halt the entrance of loggers, poachers and other illegal entities.  Patrolling large areas requires the full-time engagement of well-trained indigenous residents. An amount of 4,500 Php. (approx. 75€/86 USD) can cover the monthly allowance of a IADP.  This, in turn, increases the chances for forest and precious environments to be monitored and protected.

Supporting a Livelihood Project

Advocacy alone cannot sustain the struggle of indigenous peoples fighting for their land and forest.  “How can we keep fighting against oil palm and mining companies if our stomach is empty?”.  This is a common question asked and shared by most of the indigenous people we live and work with. This is why, aside from providing paralegal assistance to communities in need, we also try to match advocacy work with small-scale livelihood options, which might include dispersal of livestock and fishing nets, marketing assistance for the sale of local products (e.g. hand-made brooms) and NTFPs. With an amount of 15,000 Php. (252€/288USD) we can purchase 6 piglets, or 35 broiler chicks to be distributed to five indigenous households.
